CLEVELAND, OH – Todd Leebow, President and CEO of Majestic Steel USA – a Cleveland, Ohio-based steel service center and master distributor of steel – issued the following statement on the release of the Commerce Department’s Steel Section 232 Report:

“I would like to commend Secretary Ross and the Commerce Department for their very thorough and detailed work leading to today’s announcement. The Department’s critical findings reveal the massive cheating which has negatively impacted our domestic steel industry over the past number of years. Additionally, the strong recommendations included in the report would curtail the widespread dumping by China and other foreign competitors. We are appreciative and encouraged by today’s announcement by Secretary Ross.

“Secretary Ross’ recommendations gives President Trump the range of options that he has been calling for since he first announced his candidacy. Majestic Steel has been greatly encouraged by the vocal support candidate and President Trump has given the US steel industry. We have provided the President and the Trump Administration with information on how cheating by the Chinese and other countries has impacted the American steel industry.

“I believe President Trump is going to take these strong recommendations from the Department of Commerce and make a clear and direct decision to level the playing field for the US steel industry and the tens of thousands of American jobs that hang in the balance.”
